House Captain's Badge

At Manurewa Central School we have four house groups that our tamariki and staff are split into.

They are named after four respectable and inspiring birds;
- principled HUIA, - inquiring KAKA, - caring WEKA and - risk taking TUI.

At Central we have a rich history of tradition and excellence that we aim to continue as well as improve on.

In 1960 the first house shield was presented at the end of year prizegiving.

Nowadays all of our houses compete for the same prestigious prize.

Throughout the year these house groups compete with each other in school wide competitions to gain points.

Points are also issued to those learners that display our school values and the expected behaviour we try to promote.

This year we have 16 house leaders and our houses are represented by colours.

Huia - Green, Weka - Blue, Tui - Yellow and Kaka - Red.
